40th Anniversary TOMICA Vol.1 Toyota 2000GT

Paid a visit to Litt Tak today, and I found this gorgeous Tomica!

40th Anniversary TOMICA Vol.1 Toyota 2000GT
I bought this for a couple of reasons; 1. It's a legendary car from Toyota (though I don't particularly like Toyota), and 2. I never had a Tomica Anniversary car.

Ooohhh, looks like they included something extra! It's a display base, with a set of stickers which is supposed to look like gold-plated name plates (Is that what they're called? Name plates?). You can choose from the Japanese or English name plates.

All you have to do is stick either one of the stickers on the display base, and just put the car in the recessed portion of the display base. No screws or snap-on parts whatsoever. The car sits snuggly on the base. Looks elegant even though it's just a simple display base. I chose to put the Japanese sticker, 'cos I think it better reflects the origin of the car.

As always, excellent build quality and great level of details for this kind of price and scale, as expected of Tomica.

A shot of the back, with the door opened. Red interior somehow blends well with the rest of the car.

Now this is interesting. The base of the car is made of metal (real metal, and not cheap plastic sprayed with chrome paint), which is quite rare in Tomicas these days. Even my Tomica Limited NSX has a plastic base. Maybe it's because of the anniversary edition? I do hope that Tomica could make the metal base a standard for all of their future casts, and not just the anniversary editions.

Subaru Impreza WRX, Toyota Celica Racing Type: Tomica

Just wanna share these two popular models from Tomica with you guys:

The Impreza's blue colour is actually much nicer in the real cast. My cheap digicam couldn't appreciate it though...

They gave a few stickers along with the Celica. I managed to put a few of them in place after I took the pictures above, but it doesn't look very nice. Not surprising though. Maybe I'll rip them off later. So here's an advise, if you bought yourself a Tomica with stickers, just leave the stickers where they're meant to be, which is in the box.
