Mitsubishi 2008 Lancer Evolution: HW SM

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is quite a popular casting among Hot Wheels collectors. And it's a favourite among customizers as well, as you can see in one of my previous posts. Anyway, I've managed to get my hands on the Speed Machines Lancer Evolution a few days ago. I was hoping I could find the red one, but the white one is a beauty as well. Here it is:

Looks pretty good I must say. I thought it would look pretty lame in white. Guess I was wrong. Anyway, here's the Need for Speed Shift version:

Ferrari 599XX: HW SM

This is the second version of Ferrari 599XX from the Speed Machines series. I love the dark red paint they used on the previous version. Paired with the beautiful shape of the cast itself, the red Ferrari 599XX looks absolutely stunning. For the second version though, they just decided to dip the whole thing into a jar of mustard. And here's the result:

Hmm... I don't know.. It just doesn't seem right in yellow.

There are things which look nice in yellow. The Ferrari F355 looks nice in yellow, the Ferrari Testarossa looks nice in yellow, Kristen Bell looks hot in a yellow bikini, bananas look yummy in yellow, but the 599XX? Don't get me wrong, the 599XX is a beautiful, beautiful car. It's like Megan Fox's lips. They look sexy in red, but in yellow? I do know someone who would absolutely love this car in yellow though...

The Horse and The Cobra: HW & HW SM

I bought a couple of Mustangs the other day. The '07 Ford Shelby GT500s to be exact. Let's start with the first one, which is from the Hot Wheels Speed Machines series:

'07 Ford Shelby GT500 from Hot Wheels Speed Machines

A pretty decent cast I'd say. Though I wish they could do something about the headlights. By the way, of course that's not all. Here's the Need for Speed Shift version:

Click on the pictures for a bigger resolution (1364x768). Do note that the '07 Ford Shelby GT500 is not available in Need for Speed, so I had to use the 2010 version in the wallpaper above, which looks pretty much the same.

Now let's take a look at the second '07 Ford Shelby GT500.
This one is from Hot Wheels Faster Than Ever 2010

I don't really like the colour of this GT500, but I just bought it to expand my Mustang collection. The gold rims look nice though. Anyway, the addition of these two casts means that I have a total of 10 Mustangs now. I still have a long way to go to complete my Mustang collection. Wish me luck! :)

'06 Dodge Viper SRT10: HW SM

Look what I found at Tesco Rawang today!

'06 Dodge Viper SRT10 from Hot Wheels Speed Machines

Let's take a closer look at this beauty.
The previous version of this cast looks kinda ugly, but this one, on the other hand, looks absolutely brilliant! And I love the amount of details that it has. Even though the 'Dodge' tampo on the rear bumper isn't perfect, I'm still satisfied with the overall build quality. By the way, here's the usual drill:

3D version from Need for Speed Shift.
Had a hard time with the 'Mopar' wording on the door, since NFS doesn't have alphabet vinyls. Anyway, you can click on the pictures for a bigger resolution (1364x768). That's the maximum resolution I can provide, since that's the resolution of my monitor. Enjoy! :)

'07 Ford Shelby GT500: HW SM

Another Hot Wheels Speed Machines haul from the recent batch.

'07 Ford Shelby GT500

Red and black usually go well together. But not this time. Nevertheless, it is still a lovely car.

There's actually a bit of chipped paint on the boot. But it's not visible in this picture 'cause I've photoshopped the thing. Mattel should really do something about their quality control. I don't mind smudged or misaligned tampos, but chipped paint? Did the car went through some sort of rally course before being sold?

If you look carefully at the front grille, there's a speck of silver paint visible on the left side of the grille. Although it may not look like it, that's supposed to be the Shelby logo.

Lamborghini Gallardo: HW SM

I'm not a really big fan of Lamborghini, but this particular Speed Machines cast from Hot Wheels caught my eye:

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 from Hot Wheels Speed Machines

Very few white cars with black hood could manage to look this good. Now if you look carefully, you'll notice that the black paint and the red stripes on the hood of the pictured car on the card extend to the upper portion of the front bumper. But in the cast itself, they're limited to the hood. But it looks just as good, if not better.

A closer look at the engine bay. I suppose the scribblings on the engine cover is supposed read 'Lamborghini'. Though it's not exactly detailed to the point where you could actually read the word 'Lamborghini', you gotta respect the extra effort they took to paint the engine cover. At least it's better than nothing.

Looks equally stunning from the back. It would be really great if they painted the exhaust tips as well. The Lamborghini tampo on the boot is slightly off-center, but it still looks acceptable.

And here's the 3D version in Need for Speed Shift. Hope you guys like it. :)

Need for Speed: Hot Wheels?

Ever wondered what would happen if EA Games collaborated with Hot Wheels? Well, wonder no more. Just go to the "Paint", "Rims" and "Vinyl" options in Need for Speed: Shift, and make your own Hot Wheels in just a couple minutes. Here's what I did:

Ford GT LM

Scirocco GT 24

Nissan Silvia S15

Speed Machines: Mitsubishi 2008 Lancer Evolution (I don't have the real cast for this one. Picture of the real cast is courtesy of kukuspace. Thanks kuku!)

This one's the easiest: Nissan 370Z.

Only Hot Wheels? What about Tomica?
There you go! Hasemi Tomica Ebbro GT-R 2009 Sepang Spec.
