American Performance: HW 5-Pack

Bought myself another 5-Pack today, just for that one Mustang inside the 5-Pack.

American Performance from Hot Wheels 5-Pack

And these are the cars included in the 5-Pack:
Dodge Viper GTS-R

C6 Corvette

Ford Shelby GR-1 Concept

Dodge Challenger Concept

...and the main reason I bought the 5-Pack: Custom '07 Ford Mustang

Here are the group pics!

Mustangs!

It's been a while since I last posted some new hauls in my blog. I've been very busy lately. Extra classes at night and on weekends. Could hardly find the time to go hunting for new cars. So in the meanwhile, here's a picture compilation of the Mustangs that I have so far. All of them are from Hot Wheels, except for the 4 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible at the lower right part of the picture, which are from Matchbox. Thanks for looking!

2010 Ford Mustang GT: GreenLight

My first ever GreenLight! Special thanks to Hokuan who helped me to get this beauty. :)

2010 Ford Mustang GT from GreenLight.
As you can see from the blister pack, it comes with a shop tool accessory which, in my case, is a battery charger. There are other shop tool accessories such as a work bench, a drill press, an engine hoist, a tool box, and a tripod light stand. The other accessories are included with various GreenLight cars. By the way, the plastic base in the blister pack could be taken out, and you can use it as a display base like in the picture above.

Rubber wheels and metal chassis make this a proper die-cast.

Translucent plastic taillights, painted emblem and painted license plates show just how much effort GreenLight put into the details. And if you look carefully, you will notice that the side mirrors are painted silver on the mirror-side.

The details of the engine bay are amazing for a 1:64 scale die-cast. Overall, this is the best Mustang die-cast I have in my collection so far. If I were to rate this, I'd give it a 9/10. Simply awesome!

Custom '67 Mustang: HW

Custom '67 Mustang from Hot Wheels Nightburnerz 2010
Yes, it's actually from the 2010 lineup. Quite a few models from 2010 had to be released in 2011, for reasons I'm not sure of.

Pictured here with the first colour variant of the '67 Custom Mustang.
In contrast with the front end, the details for the rear end are surprisingly good. Tampos are in place, and you can even make out the word "Mustang" on the trunk.

'69 Shelby GT-500: HW

'69 Shelby GT-500 from 2011 Hot Wheels Premiere
Basic design is similar to the '62 Mustang Concept. Only difference is that this one looks more like a car, rather than a washing machine.

Truth be told, it looks a bit dull compared to the illustration on the card. The front-end should have been chromed for that muscle car look. I hope the upcoming variations of this car would be more exciting than this one.

'67 Shelby GT-500: HW

Pictured with the first variant of '67 Shelby GT-500 in 2011, which is red in colour.
I really like the colour on this Shelby GT-500. Sorta like champagne-gold.

If you notice, the second colour variant for the '67 Shelby GT-500 from 2011 has different rims as well.

'69 Ford Mustang: HW

'69 Ford Mustang from Hot Wheels Racing 2011
I'm so glad that the '69 Mustang made it in the 2011 lineup. Anyway, there are supposed to be 10 cars in the 2011 Racing series. The other one I got so far is the '66 Chevy Nova. I'm planning to get all 10 to complete the collection, 'cos the racing tampo looks really cool.

'56 Ford F-100: HW

This is the second colour variant of the '56 Ford F-100 in 2011.

'56 Ford F-100 from Hot Wheels Heat Fleet 2011
Pictured here with the first colour which is copper.

Hulk would totally love this car. It's green, it's mean, it looks muscular, and he can probably fit in the back... at least when he's not angry.

Ferrari GTO: HW

A classic beauty from the stable of the prancing horse.

Ferrari GTO from Hot Wheels 2008 First Editions
Classic Ferraris look beautiful in yellow. The same can't be said for the newer models though.

Despite having said numerous times that I'm not a fan of Ferrari, I already have 6 Ferrari die-casts in my collection, including this one. I know 6 is not many, but for someone who's not a fan, that's quite a lot. So why did I buy them? Well, the thing about Ferrari is that even if you don't really fancy it when you see the pictures in magazines and stuff, you'd still drool over one when you see the car in metal. The same goes for this GTO. I've seen this car countless times in various sales threads and forums, but I never thought about getting one, at least not until my friend showed the actual die-cast to me. As soon as I laid my eyes upon the car, I thought that it was a real beauty and I just can't resist the temptation to buy one. And I did.

Mustang Funny Car: HW

Mustang Funny Car from Hot Wheels Team: Drag Racing 2008
Personally, I think it's the best-looking Mustang Funny Car I've ever seen. The flat black paint with gold stripes looks brilliant.

'56 Ford F-100: HW

Finally managed to get this Wal-Mart Exclusive '56 Ford F-100.

'56 Ford F-100 from Hot Wheels Performance 2010
It's not easy getting a Wal-Mart Exclusive car, since we don't have Wal-Marts over here. They should make Tesco Exclusive cars instead. We have plenty of Tescos in Malaysia.

Back to the Future Time Machine: HW

One of the most highly anticipated casting of 2011:

Back to the Future Time Machine from 2011 Hot Wheels Premiere
Huge flux capacitor at the back separates the Time Machine from a normal DeLorean DMC-12.

The license plate says "OUTATIME", just like the car in the movie. It's a very cool car, but I do hope the build quality could be improved.
