Dodge Challenger Drift Car: HW

Now you might have seen the Dodge Challenger SRT8 from Hot Wheels Performance 2010, and you'd probably think that the Dodge Challenger that I'm featuring today is basically the same cast but with a different paint and tampo. Well, actually, it's a totally different cast, and I'll point out some of the differences below. No side-by-side picture comparison though.

Dodge Challenger Drift Car from Hot Wheels Premiere 2011

Apart from the striking 'Dodge' tampo stamped all over its body (which looks really cool), other major differences are noticeable if you compare this Dodge with the previous year's Dodge. One of them is the addition of prominent wheel arches, which makes the 2011 cast looks much more aggressive. The sunroof has been removed in the new Dodge as well, probably to make way for the roof tampo. And finally, the most prominent addition to the 2011 Dodge is the huge rear spoiler. Some may love it as it makes the car looks meaner and 'faster'. Others may not feel the same way, as it spoils the whole retro muscle car looks (well, it is a 'spoiler'). The only muscle car that looks good with a huge spoiler is the Plymouth Superbird.

'66 Chevy Nova: HW

First off, I'm not really familiar with the Chevy Nova. In fact, I didn't even know it existed, until I started collecting Hot Wheels. And I never felt the urge to grab one from the pegs, until today.

'66 Chevy Nova from Hot Wheels Racing 2011

Looks much better on the card.

I know nothing about the Chevy Nova, apart from the fact that it looks really cool with the Hot Wheels tampo on its body.

'67 Shelby GT-500: HW

My recent haul from the 2011 collection.

'67 Shelby GT-500 from Hot Wheels Muscle Mania 2011
The illustrations on the 2011 cards sure look good. I was having a hard time deciding whether or not should I uncard it.

But of course I uncarded the car anyway...

Nissan Skyline 2000GT-B (Japan GP Spec): Tomica Limited

My second Tomica Limited, and I only paid RM19.90 for this beauty. A steal at that price.

Tomica Limited 0118: Nissan Skyline 2000GT-B (Japan GP Spec)
Thank God for Google and Google Translate! Initially I didn't even bother with the Japanese words in the brackets behind the 'Nissan Skyline 2000GT-B'. But I figured Google might be able to help.

Rubber wheels are standard for a Tomica Limited.

Despite being a Tomica Limited, this car still has some minor flaws, such as the chipped paint on the taillights. Tomica's getting sloppy.

Anyway, the nice thing about Tomica Limited is that they're nicely packaged in a nice box bearing the name of the car inside, and you can see the car without having to open the box or remove anything, and the box is covered with a hard plastic sleeve, so you can display them without having to worry about display cases and dusts and stuff. You could just put them on your display shelf right after purchase.

Ferrari 458 Italia: HW

This is probably my last post for this week. Not that I don't have any more die-cast cars to feature, it's just that they're still in the hostel office, and I wont be picking them up anytime soon, 'cos the staffs at the office are starting to complain that I always have the cash to buy stuffs online even though I still haven't paid my college fees. So I'm currently waiting for my scholarship so that I can pay the college fees and pick up my stuff at the office without having to wear an ear plug every time I go there. Anyway, here's another beautiful cast from 2010:

Ferrari 458 Italia from Hot Wheels Premiere 2010

This beauty only costs RM6.90 each, while the college fee that I need to pay is RM490 (that's 71 Hot Wheels cars!!). So it's really unfair for the staffs to complain about my unpaid fees and relate them to my hobby. College fees can wait, die-casts can't. This car would probably be gone from the pegs if I were a few days late.

Great details on the Ferrari. See the white line just in front of the rear wheel? That actually reads "Pininfarina". And you can actually read it. The macro mode on my camera isn't that good though, so you probably can't read it from here.

Rear end is a bit disappointing.

Bet the engine bay would look great if it's painted. Too bad it isn't.

2009 Nissan GT-R: HW

Despite being the successor to the original 'Godzilla', the Nissan GT-R was built from scratch, with the sole of purpose of putting every other supercar to shame.

2009 Nissan GT-R from Hot Wheels Nightburnerz 2010

Looks totally mean from the front.

My favourite part of the GT-R. I think the back looks great.

Dodge SRT8: HW

The second colour variation of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 after the previous white version.

Dodge SRT8 from Hot Wheels Performance 2010

Note that it's painted in metallic black, not just flat black or enamel black.

Awesome K&N tampo made this car quite popular among Hot Wheels collectors.

Are the windows supposed to be orange? It's not orange on the card though.

Helang Ford Shelby GT500

Custom die-casts are great. You can do all sort of things to an ordinary die-cast and turn it into a work of art, and your creation is only limited by your imagination. Unfortunately though, I lack the skills in customizing, and I don't even have the necessary tools to begin with. I just can't seem to save up enough cash to buy the tools (Okay, I lied. I spent whatever savings I had on Mustangs, lots of them). However, there is a type of customizing that probably doesn't need any tools (besides a keyboard). Here's my attempt at the Helang Ford Shelby GT500:

It doesn't exist in the real world, but at least it now exists in the digital world.

If the Royal Malaysian Police has one of these, I would quit medical school and join the police force. Seriously.

Busting crime has never looked so good.

As always, you can click on the pictures for a bigger resolution (1364x768). Enjoy! :)

Route Master: Matchbox

Managed to get this beautiful iconic vehicle from my friend kuku. Lots of thanks. :)

Route Master from Matchbox City Action 2010
It's probably one of the largest die-cast in my collection (hey, I only collect 1:64), and subsequently it's pretty heavy as well, which is a good thing. The whole thing feels solid.

Somehow, from this view, it kinda looks like a stretched-out double-decker Hummer. I still think it looks beautiful though.

'10 Ford Shelby GT500: HW

And you thought only the Camaro looks good in yellow with black stripes?

'10 Ford Shelby GT500 from Hot Wheels Premiere 2010

This is so much better looking than Bumblebee. Though sometimes I think that it kinda looks like a cab.

540 bhp and 690Nm of torque. The Camaro SS just doesn't stand a chance. Don't get me wrong, I like the Chevrolet Camaro (I like all muscle cars), but the Mustang is just way past awesome.

You need to mix the fuel with a little bit of honey (in 3:1 ratio) in order to get the maximum horsepower. Not true.

Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34): HW

The second variation of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 following the silver version.

Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) from Hot Wheels Premiere 2010

Metallic blue looks good on the R34, hence the majority of R34s on the road painted in the same colour. I do hope they would make another one in Special Colour Midnight Purple III.

Paint job is uneven. Heavy at some areas, and light at the others.

Minor details such as the small GT-R emblem on the boot are well done. Too small to see in this picture though.

2008 Lancer Evolution: HW

Bought this one to complement the blue 2008 Lancer Evolution I bought previously. Thanks to kuku for this one. :)

2008 Lancer Evolution from Hot Wheels Nightburnerz 2010

I thought it would look ugly in green. Glad I was wrong.

Tampos are perfect.

Taillights are unpainted, as usual. I'm getting used to it though.

'69 Ford Mustang: HW T-Hunt$

Finally got the Treasure Hunt I've been looking for! Special thanks to mushr00m! :)

'69 Ford Mustang from Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt$ 2010
Super Treasure Hunt, spectraflame green, flame tampo and rubber wheels make this the best Mustang in the 2010 lineup.
